Mountain Log Home Museum
About the Museum
In the early 1990's Paul Elbe learned about a plan to demolish an old house built by Fred and Augusta Bartz in the late 1880's. Knowing it was the first permanent home in Mountain and a structure built of hand hewn log, Paul dismantled it and with the help of many volunteers rebuilt it at its present site.
It is now home to the the Mountain Historical Society museum.
